What is in the picture.
Every poster is painted from a written brief. This is the one Times Square was drawn from.
- The view
- Standing in Duffy Square at the north end, looking south down the split where Broadway crosses Seventh Avenue, buildings converging on the wedge.
- The subject
- The narrow prow of One Times Square, a slab tower wrapped floor to roof in stacked rectangles of coloured light, thin flagpole mast rising from its crown.
- The light
- Blue hour just after sunset, sky still holding light while the tower panels throw red and amber glow up the wet asphalt.
- Behind it
- Simplified grey brick cliffs of the two converging avenues, the Paramount Building's stepped setbacks and round glass clock, all colour drained back.
- The distance
- Flat haze-blue silhouettes of Midtown office towers stacked behind the wedge, one slender spire breaking the skyline under open sky.
On a wall.
Mounted and framed, lit by each room’s own light.
The print itself.
Paper
250 gsm museum-quality matte, acid-free, with a light natural texture that suits flat colour.
Sizes
12 x 16", 18 x 24", 24 x 36", framed or unframed. The two smaller sizes are 3:4 and the largest is 2:3, so each is composed for its own shape rather than cropped from the other.
Printing
Produced to order by the press nearest the delivery address and shipped flat or framed. The artwork is upscaled before it goes to press, never generated large.
How it was made
A language model writes the composition brief and a diffusion model paints the artwork. The house style, palette, depth rules and typesetting are ours, applied the same way to every poster. The titles are never painted; they are composited afterwards as vector outlines.
