What is in the picture.
Every poster is painted from a written brief. This is the one Hearst Castle was drawn from.
- The view
- From the southeast corner of the Neptune Pool terrace, looking northwest across the water to the temple facade with Casa Grande rising at right.
- The subject
- The Neptune Pool: white marble coping and curved colonnades, a Greco-Roman temple front of fluted columns under a carved pediment, turquoise water.
- The light
- Late afternoon, low sun raking the marble to warm white and throwing long tower shadows across the terrace paving.
- Behind it
- Casa Grande's cream cast-stone facade and twin carillon towers with terracotta tile roofs, simplified, flanked by low olive and palm shapes.
- The distance
- Flat haze-blue ridges of the Santa Lucia range stepping down to a bank of Pacific fog under open sky.
On a wall.
Mounted and framed, lit by each room’s own light.
The print itself.
Paper
250 gsm museum-quality matte, acid-free, with a light natural texture that suits flat colour.
Sizes
12 x 16", 18 x 24", 24 x 36", framed or unframed. The two smaller sizes are 3:4 and the largest is 2:3, so each is composed for its own shape rather than cropped from the other.
Printing
Produced to order by the press nearest the delivery address and shipped flat or framed. The artwork is upscaled before it goes to press, never generated large.
How it was made
A language model writes the composition brief and a diffusion model paints the artwork. The house style, palette, depth rules and typesetting are ours, applied the same way to every poster. The titles are never painted; they are composited afterwards as vector outlines.
